About us
Genera Homes respects your privacy and takes the handling of your personal information seriously.
This policy explains how we collect and use information when you browse our website, contact us or arrange an appointment.
Business responsible for your information: Genera Homes Ltd, trading as Genera Homes Website: https://www.generahomes.co.uk Email: customerservice@generahomes.co.uk
We act as the data controller for the personal information we use for these purposes.
Information you provide
When you contact us or request an appointment, you may provide your:
Name and contact details.
Preferred appointment date and time.
Property address or details of a property you are interested in.
Buying, renting, selling or letting requirements.
Messages and other information relevant to your enquiry.
Please avoid sending identity documents, financial records or sensitive personal information through a general enquiry unless we have specifically requested it and explained how to provide it securely.
Information collected when you browse
Our website systems may record technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, pages requested and the date and time of access. This supports website delivery, security and troubleshooting.
The cookies and statistics section below explains the additional website technologies used.
Why we use your information
We use enquiry and appointment information to respond to you, understand your request, arrange appointments and send relevant confirmations or updates.
We retain relevant correspondence to manage follow-up questions and resolve concerns. Technical records help us operate and protect the website.
If you later use our sales, lettings or management services, we will provide additional privacy information where the processing goes beyond this policy.
Our lawful bases
Legitimate interests: We use information to answer general enquiries, organise appointments, maintain appropriate records and protect our website. These activities support the running of our business, subject to considering your privacy rights.
Steps towards a contract: Where you ask us to take steps towards entering a contract with you, we use the information necessary to do so.
Legal obligations: We may retain or disclose information where a specific legal obligation requires it.
Consent: Where an optional activity requires your consent, we will explain it and ask separately. You can withdraw that consent by contacting us or using the relevant settings.
Providing your information
You can browse our public pages without submitting an enquiry. However, we need sufficient contact and appointment details to respond or arrange a booking. Without those details, we may be unable to fulfil your request.
Sharing information
We use external providers to support website hosting, email and appointment administration. They may process information necessary to deliver those services.
Where arranging a property visit requires coordination with an owner, occupier or representative, we share only the information necessary for that arrangement.
We may also disclose relevant information to professional advisers or public authorities where necessary to meet legal obligations or handle a dispute.
Keeping your information
We keep information for as long as it is needed for its purpose. For enquiries and appointments, we consider whether the enquiry remains active, whether follow-up is needed and whether any complaint or dispute remains unresolved.
We also consider applicable legal record-keeping obligations. Information that becomes part of an ongoing client relationship is handled under the relevant service arrangements.
When information is no longer required, we will securely delete it or anonymise it.
Protecting your information
We take appropriate measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss and misuse. Access should be limited to people and providers who need it for their work.
No internet service can offer absolute security. If you believe information you have sent us has been compromised, please contact us promptly.
Appointment messages and marketing
We use your contact details to communicate about your enquiry or booking. Requesting an appointment does not automatically sign you up to a marketing mailing list.
If we introduce optional property alerts or promotional communications, we will explain the arrangements separately and provide an appropriate way to opt out.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us to:
Give you access to your personal information.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
Delete information we no longer have a valid reason to keep.
Restrict how we use your information.
Provide a portable copy where that right applies.
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Email customerservice@generahomes.co.uk to exercise your rights. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information or acting on a request. We will respond within the applicable legal timeframe and explain any relevant limitations.
Questions and complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please contact:

Changes to this policy
We will review this policy when our services or information-handling practices change. The date above identifies the latest update.
Property website and admin access
The property website uses hosting, database and media storage services supplied through ChatGPT Sites and its infrastructure providers. Enquiries submitted through the website are stored in our private admin inbox. Administrator sign-in is handled by ChatGPT; public property browsing does not require a ChatGPT account.
The optional installable admin app stores its app icon and offline notice on your device. It does not store private enquiry or listing responses for offline access.
